Devastating Critical

Question mainly for driller but anyone who knows the answer is welcome to help:

So I’m coming up on the level that my Crafter is due to receive the Devastating Critical feat ( Level 30 in this case). Then, while browsing the forums, I came across this post from the old NWN 1 Blackstone Keep forums :

... In which it says that Devastating Critical is disabled.

Am I correct in assuming that it is still disabled? It would be good to know before I potentially waste a feat lol.

As I remember it, you get a random +50ish damage as DevCrit, so it's still useful, but not overpowered.

Ooh interesting. I'll might just take the feat then and see what happens!

Update!

So I took the feat, and with my 30-40ish Damage per hit Scimitar wielder (with 3x 1d6 socketed +5 Scimitar), I receive random 20-30ish portions of ‘Devastating Critical’ Damage. These are calculated and administered separately from my normal Damage, similar to how Flame Weapon is its’ own separate set of damage. It also seems to be effected by Damage Reduction in addition to the normal hit, which means in this case my Physical Damage is reduced twice.

Still, overall a net increase in damage, so the feat is not completely wasted . Not as overpowered as the original, which is probably a good thing. =)

I believe driller changed it so you get +1 crit multiplier, so instead of insta kill you get x3 crit dmg with your rapiers
