Re: Notice regarding changes to take place in May

Reminds me of a really old ad on t.v. that said "Reading is Fundamental". I guess around here though, it would be "Reading is Fun-Duh-Mental".

Re: PvP in the keep

The keep is never ever ever going to be PvP again, so you may as well dismiss the notion. I don't know about the "wands" thing, but there's certain players who I trust implicitly. If they tell me that a certain yahoo is going around pk'ing unjustified, then it's as good as if I saw it myse...

Re: What do you guys think of this?

I think it sounds like something worth at least giving a shot. I'm sure there will need to be some adjustments made along the way, but that's no different than anything else that's been added. If you can tolerate all the pissing and whining that will surely be par for the course, then I'm all for it.

Re: Just a little How do ya Do from your old pal Mystic

Yeah, Myle you hit the nail on the head on many levels - and thanks for the props. The thing is - just like when most of us are playing our chars, and the char seems to take on a persona of its own, that's how it is when I play Eon. He/She just kinda takes over, while I'm sitting here looking at the ...

Just a little How do ya Do from your old pal Mystic

Yep, as some of you may have noticed, I'm back. Hopefully this won't be too lengthy a post, but I think it might be. I want to cover a bit of how I do business, and tell you a bit about how I play Eon. For starters, Do I have favorite? Yep, sure do. There are a number of players who consistently RP ...

Re: Guild Functions and PvP

Thankees, good to be back :D When I grew up in New York, we had a group called the Guardian Angels. They were readily identifiable by their scarlet berets - I wouldn't have called them a vigilante group per say, but if they were around and you committed a crime, you were in deep doo-doo. Eventually,...

Re: Guild Functions and PvP

Wow, you guys are thick. Back, by the way. Here's an analogy that hopefully will help explain the guild/pvp thing: Street gangs: If you're in the gang wearing blue colors, and see someone in the rival gang that wears red colors, PvP is consented. If you're not a member of any gang, but you attack a ...

To echo what Myle has already said, and others have clued into, it's a matter of knowing who your character is and what he/she would do in given situations. Is the character dynamic? can he/she change based on the circumstances presented? I would hope so! Just as in RL, differing circumstances prese...

To make a counter-point, I have a level 30 something who has been shredding ants, and has found his share of socks and forgies at that level. I guess the moral here = don't be so quick to get down to the Umgahs?

The statistical argument remains unchanged. Let me put this in a more mundane context: There are scratch-off lottery tickets that offer a 1 in 1000 chance of winning $100. Bob buys 1000 of these tickets, and wins nothing. Jane buys 5 tickets and 3 of them are $100 winners. The same principle applies...

A dose of common sense and common courtesy should apply here. If you wind up with someone's ultra-forged wep in your inventory, give it back - as you would like your own returned. If it's on the ground and your opponent is dead, and cant get to his wep, or a reset is forthcoming, pick it up for him/...

There's still another thing to consider with both statistical methods. That is that a 1 in 1000 chance of a drop in general doesn't mean that for every thousand instances that one will occur. Multiply the results by ten and you have a 10 in 10,000 chance, meaning that you could kill 9,900 monsters w...

Well, you guys will probably think I'm crazy - most of you do anyway, and you're probably right. But humor me anyway... There is a principle called the Law of Attraction. Like all laws in the Universe, it works whether you believe in it or not. Gravity is a good example. Whether you believe in gravi...
